First Entry: Why I'm Building This
This is the first post on NotABigShortGuy.com. I've been trading actively for a while now, and I've had one consistent failure: I don't document the work well enough.
That changes here.
What This Site Is
This is my source of truth. A public record of:
- Session journals — what I saw, what I did, what I should have done
- Strategies — documented setups with entry/exit criteria, not vibes
- Positions — current book, open and closed, with notes
- Performance — real P&L, prop account history, the wins and the losses
- Market scans — systematic watchlists, not random picks
- Indicators — the tools I've built or rely on, with explanations
What This Site Is Not
- A signal service
- Financial advice
- A highlight reel
If you find a trade on here that works out, that's great. If you follow me into a loss, that's on you — and I'd argue you shouldn't be following anyone blindly. This is education-by-documentation, not recommendation.
The Practice Itself
I trade primarily US equities. Some options. Day trading is the primary focus, with swing positions when setups warrant the overnight risk.
I've gone through prop firm evaluations. I've passed some and failed some. That history will all be logged here.
The Commitment
Post at minimum weekly — session by session. No cherry-picking. No retroactive re-writing. If a trade was bad, the entry was bad, and the explanation has to be honest.
That's the whole point.
